:D I live in a similar kind of place but the big ones still scare me. On our second trip to Sydney I had the dubious pleasure of having a huntsman spider come down the wall to greet me on the train from the airport. When we were eventually let into our hotel room I had a short nap (early flight plus timezone) and I had a scary dream about very large spiders. So this time I kept my distance. I think the wife snapped a few closeup pics of them with her camera. I did become more comfortable with them as the days went by... then as luck would have it I got up during the night to find a good sized spider sitting in the bathroom sink. Managed to keep my cool and carry him outside using a glass & card. As much as I dislike big spiders I won't kill them. But getting back to sleep after that wasn't easy :) Thanks to everyone who looked, and more thanks to those who commented.
