I like this one the best: http://charles.robinsontwins.org/photos/2012/Thomas_Dolby/content/IMGP8281_large.html although I would play with the color balance a bit. I know that stage lighting makes that near impossible, but the skin tones strike me as way too magenta. Also, part of the reason I like this one is the stage lighting (blue highlights) which you could not control, but you got a nice expression/look.
I'm curious what this one would have looked like with another notch slower shutter speed. If you could freeze everything but still capture more of a blur on the strumming hand, I think that would have been nice. The guy's hat adds another layer of complication to the lighting/shadows side of things. Part of you "problem" with this particular band may be that they just don't do a lot that jumps out at you as "energy" or "emotion". This shot captures some of that: http://charles.robinsontwins.org/photos/2012/Thomas_Dolby/content/IMGP7512_large.html but unfortunately his eyes are going in a direction that makes him look a bit comedic/demented instead. I see a guy wearing a harp but see no shots of him blowing it, which might have made some good energy shots. This one could have been cool, but for the unfortunate positioning of the microphone: http://charles.robinsontwins.org/photos/2012/Thomas_Dolby/content/IMGP7730_large.html I'd also have composed with more space to the direction that he is looking, rather than centering your composition. My two cents. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
