I could imagine.  Some people here have had their damage assessment changed 
from "total rebuild" to "repair job" over a year after the original assessment 
and all the intervening seismic activity.  In our house we've had doors start 
to jam after one shake only to fix themselves on the next, but this is taking 
it a bit far.

It gets even messier for these guys as the houses are sitting on red-zoned land 
which means a rebuild may not even be allowed.  I think this will head to court 
and the lawyers will do quite well out of it.
