You cannot accurately say that one camera is better than another
camera. You can only say that it is better for certain things. If
one camera does something that another camera doesn't, then it is
infinitely better for that task. Jostein has both a K-5 and a 645D.
In theory the 645D is a better camera, but he still uses the K-5. As
a matter of fact, I'd wager he shoots more frames with the K-5 than
with the 645D, because there are many things the K-5 is better at.
Likewise, look at Walt and his K-x and K100D.
I agree with your every word, Larry. It is just that K-5 or K-7 or K20D
or K10 or *istD are pretty capable cameras and can be used for great
many photographic applications. I am not dismissing full frame cameras,
but cropped cameras are very capable and as times goes by they become
more capable.
I use the AF lockout all the time. I prefocus with half a shutter
press, then hit AF so I get instant shutter response. You are right,
it would be better in many cases if it disengaged the screwdrive.
True. I think that can be done in firmware, but for some reason they
cannot be bothered...
