The Spotmatic F has open aperture metering with 'most' SMC Takumar
lenses. I wouldn't pay more
than $100 for a Spot F unless it came New In Box with all packaging,
probably not more than $75
for a Spotmatic. These are old cameras. It's hard to find someone to work
on them if they fail
let alone find parts for them, (even though I'd wager you could cannibalize
an early K1000 for
parts for the Spot F, but even that is getting to be an old camera). If
you want to test all of
the capabilities of the lens you will probably want the Spot F. If all you
want to do is check
on it's optical properties you could just look around for a screw to K
mount adapter and use the
lens in a stopdown manual mode on your present camera.
