Interesting - it's one of the things people don't think about - what to do with all the rubble. Over here they put a lot of the blitz damage on Blackheath after the war, so now most of Blackheath is a flat, green, empty wilderness, whereas before it was all humps and hollows that highwaymen used to hide in.
A friend of mine who's a structural engineer went to Haiti after their earthquake, and they also have a lot of rubble to dispose of.
