Really nice set, Mark I especially like the owl , the Okapis and the Gazelle (Mhorr's ?) but all nice... (might lighten up the crane a bit, the one against the green background? could be jsut my eyes tho)
I sent the link to my friend Sara who is back in NY now but lived in St louis for , um, about 25 years and was a docent at the zoo. She probably knows all of your subjects by their given names :-) ann On 7/2/2012 07:51, Mark C wrote:
I've been away for a while, and along the way I spent a few days in St. Louis, MO where I had the chance to tour their very nice zoo. Here are are few snaps: http://www.markcassino.com/b2evolution/blog6.php/2012/07/01/zoo-snaps Except for the accidental IR shot, all were taken with the K5 and an older (non-DG version) Sigma 135-400 f4.5-5.6 APO zoom. This proved to be an ideal zoom for the zoo, with 135mm being a little too long in just one or two situations. The K5's high ISO ability and in body IS was also a great asset. The owl shot was taken handheld inside an aviary at ISO 1600, no flash, 1/45th of a second at 400mm and still came out pretty sharp - great testament to the in body IS! MCC
