I agree that it is a wonderful use of HDR (in the best photo-realistic sense) and also glad to hear that you find Nik's software easier to use than Photomatix. (I'm rather impressed with all of Nik's stuff that I've seen so far, but haven't played with their HDR tool yet).
I have to mention one minor criticism, however. I am rather sensitive to off-level images (unless they are obviously purposely done so for effect). This one lists to the left in a way that struck me immediately. I decided to check if my "level" was off by doing a screen capture and using the selection rectangle in photoshop.
