Sounds like a great weekend.I had a chance to photograph
dolphins off the coast of the Queen Charlotte Islands
in British Columbia in 1975 while living on a tug
boat duing a Hydrographic survey.All I had at the 
time was the 55 f2.0 and SP500 but they came quite close
to our boat.Timing is tricky<g>
I would think the 300 would be good with some 400 film

Whales, hopefully.

This time of year their migration comes very close to the shores of 
Southern California. �Anyone have any suggestions on which lens to 
bring? �I'm thinking my 300mm will suffice, but I'm not sure how 
close the 
boats'll actually get to the creatures. �I'll probably bring along 
Provia 
400F so I can get a couple of extra stops of handholdability in any 
case.

Other than the giant mammals, maybe a little something for this 
month's PUG 
theme.
