:-) I am not even sure where I got the two rings I own, probably by rumaging through close-out sales of shops going out of business ... >I just ordered a 58 to 49mm version so I can try reversing 50mm or >55mm Takumars on the front of my F100mm macro. >I wonder what the Sigma EX 28mm f1.8 would do reversed on the front of >that F100? It has a 77mm filter size. Hmmmm. A good (longish) macro, coupled with a good normal to wide FAST lens usually works best. Macro lens stopped down as far as needed for DOF, and the other lens wide open. I have had good experiences with the A* 200mm macro with the FA 50mm 1.4 or the M 50mm 1.7, as well as the M 28mm 2.8. The DFA 100mm works OK too, optically, but the mechanical stability of the combo leaves a lot to be desired (and magnification is less of course).
