the smc version has the cam for metering, the supertak version doesnt.

Subject: A bit of a mystery regarding the 20mm f4.5 Takumar ?

I've recently come into possession of a nice Super-Multi-Coated
Takumar 20mm f4.5. While googling around I found one source that
indicated that the S-M-C version was an improved optical design
(specifically mentioning an improvement over the earlier Super
Takumar's distortion. (Now I'm having trouble locating that page
again). The Ultimate Screwmount Guide seems to think that the Super
Takumar and the S-M-C versions are the same and only differ in
coatings. Another source ( http://www.aohc.it/tak02e.htm ) indicates a
5 gram weight difference between the two versions (which may or may
not say anything about the optical design).

Does anyone have any other sources of information that might shed
light on whether they differ only in coatings or if it is more than
that? Thanks in advance.
