LiveView is definitely improved comparing to K-5. Basically, I would compare it more or less to K-01, it also has Focus Peaking function etc. I wouldn't say LV in (near) darkness is stellar, but yes, it is better than before. Myself, I do use sometimes K-5 with flashlight set to focus assist mode.

When I'm shooting in extremely low light, I frequently have to use live view to 
focus the K-5. However, I can't leave it in LV because it takes so long to 
actually take a picture in LV.  How is the shooting experience with the K-30 in 
Live View?
