I guess we are all screwed

production.html
they'll all get eaten by starlings.
Yeah. Robotic starlings with lasers for eyes. Then we'll really be
screwed.
Never mind them, it's the robotic cormorants with a payload of small
nuclear weapons that worry me.
We interrupt this program to bring you some breaking news from our
Truth-is-Stranger-Than-Fiction editor. Over to you, Bob:
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_Martin_Cormorant>
Fortunately the project was cancelled, and I know why. I quote "To keep the
Cormorant watertight, the doors, inlets, and any covers required inflatable
seals."
Now, I don't know if you ever tried to inflate a seal, but believe me, when
they're flappin' around as you try to apply your lips to the appropriate
blowhole, those flippers can really scratch.
From the same article:
"Rockets then assist the aircraft with lifting off from the water's
surface."
I'm sure Jostein posted a pic from a secret Norwegian testing location
demonstrating this; unfortunately the rockets must have become soaked on
the journey to the surface.
