Quoting David Mann <[email protected]>:
Lovely, thanks for posting. Now I'm curious about what will become
of the 747.
Going even further OT, we had a C-17 do a low pass overhead
yesterday. The US Antarctic Program flew it in from Hawaii as
they're about to restart flights down to the ice. I'm a terrible
judge of distance but I'd say it was at 1,000 feet or less.
Certainly sounded like it. Sadly I didn't have time to grab a
camera as I rushed outside to see was making all that noise, just in
time to see it fly almost directly over my house. What a sight.
Remaining further OT, here's a C-17 making a low pass over our house a
few weeks ago. We often get C-130s doing low training runs (they're
based at Richmond about 10 km away) but a C-17 is rare because they're
based in Queensland. Not as sharp as I'd like - I've really got to
start using AF-C.

Next time, grab a camera :-)>
