G'day all

Just came across this item which suggests that Pentax - Ricoh might be
reconsidering the concept of a mirrorless line with K mount.

The K-01 is a camera with no real purpose. It has none of the advantages of an SLR, nor does it have any of the advantages of a mirrorless camera.
It's also an ergonomic nightmare, and is butt ugly to boot.

If they'd put an electronic viewfinder on it, or at least the capability of adding one, they'd have sold a lot more of them. It's not a horrible idea, just a poorly executed idea. The cost savings in manufacture would have to allow a sale price lower than that of the K30 which is already pretty inexpensive, but like the Q it was over priced at inception. At least they didn't have the delusions of Sigma.

Don't lose heart, they might want to cut it out, and they'll want to avoid a
lengthly search.
