After Joe Dixon asked whether anyone could see his Photonet page, I left
a browser open to his page for about 40 hours to see if it would ever
load completely.
It never did load all the thumbnails. By the time I closed the browser
there were still about a third of the thumbnails that hadn't loaded. It
seemed like the farther down the page towards older the images the more
missing thumbnails.
From time to time, I went back to his Photonet page and clicked on a
random sample of thumbnails & placeholders. Every thumbnail took me to
the image. All of the placeholders for thumbnails took me to
placeholders for the images.
That's pretty much exactly what I was experiencing with my own page
last night. It wasn't likely a local PC issue then. More of a
throughput issue on their side.
The only thing I can add is I'm not a photonet user, so take my view for
what it's worth as someone on the outside looking in.
