Hi Brian - For most of the windows I could shoot from the center aisle. For those photos, there is just a bit of a keystone effect. It's very slight and easy to correct with either Lightroom or Photoshop.
There are a couple of the windows that had to be shot from below and 45 degrees to the side because of their locations. They are located to the sides of the choir loft and there is no way to shoot them from a perpendicular spot. I had been struggling with the lens correction tools, and the transform, etc. to get a good corrected perspective for those. Coincidentally, I was listening to the live feed of the PhotoshopUser TV while I was working. As I was struggling with the correction I heard Pete Collins say something like "let me give you guys a quick tip about the perspective crop tool..." Well that caught my attention and I watched him demonstrate. So at this point I said "Duh." (you can imagine the sound of my palm smacking my forehead here) Select the perspective crop tool in CS5, click on the four corners of you selection, hit the return key and it's done. It's even easier to find in CS6. It's right on the crop button to the tool bar. I tried it on the two most distorted windows and it took about 10 seconds each. That includes the time to load and save the files. There is still a little linear distortion but that will be easy to fix. The hard part was getting them squared up. So, thanks to Pete's tip, this project is going to move along a lot faster. By the way, it's PhotoshopUserTV Episode 325. The recording is posted on kelbytv.com and on youTube. gs George Sinos -------------------- [email protected] www.georgesphotos.net plus.georgesinos.com On Wed, Nov 21, 2012 at 1:55 PM, Brian Walters <[email protected]> wrote: > Spectacular colours in that. > > I was impressed by the lack of lens distortion - did that require any work > in post? > > > Cheers > > Brian > > ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ > Brian Walters > Western Sydney Australia > http://lyons-ryan.org/southernlight/ > > > > Quoting George Sinos <[email protected]>: > >> This is the "Corpus Christi" window from St. Bridget's Church.
