As I am along time lurker, I do not know how to respond on list. However, I bought an x-5 about a month ago, based on price mostly. The camera is okay, build quality is somewhat lacking, but mostly I bought it for the 22mm to 560mm equivalent zoom, and frankly as well, the flexibility of having an OK Pentax I could maybe post something to pdml with. That said, the camera is limited software wise--it is basically a point and shoot with a long zoom, and does not have raw or meaningful adjustments within the jpeg. Actually, after playing with it for a month, I decided, I can do better and did--maybe what I should have done before==ordering a K-01, figuring to use a bunch of K mount lenses from film days.. I already have a K-20, but it is heavy, and I am seduced by the small, light, and easy. If it will help, you may go to http://pastichestudio.smugmug.com. I have posted a few very unrepresentative test shots there. One of the plusses of the x-5 is HD 1080p video. Again, this is not broadcast/professional grade, but for $275, I think quite good. I hope this is helpful.
