Tom,

I know the measurements and weights aren't very different, but the D7000 feels 
and handles like a much bigger camera.  Its owner, handling my K-5, commented 
on how compact and light it seemed.

It must have something to do with pixie dust.

You piqued my interest. It seems like a splitting of hairs.

Weight difference: 40 G or about 1.4 ounces. Size difference, the K-5
is physically about 10% smaller.

Spec-wise though, I'd likely go with the Pentax when comparing those two bodies.
