LR would still be using your mail client, so you would still be impacted by
the same settings but it does save some steps in the process flow.

Thanks, George. Your question led me to wonder whether sending from within
LR---I think you can do that---would be an alternative if I was unable to
solve the problem with my client. Fortunately, that was not necessary and
the solution is simple.
