Seems plenty sharp to me, Frank! I like it!
And, yes -- it does bespeak a certain degree of cockiness to have a
cigarette dangling from one's lips prior to a bike race. You have to
wonder how well he'd have done with pink lungs!
(And I say that as a longtime, much-lamented smoker.)
