Hi Paul: I have it. I purchased it for its underwater capability mainly, but
it's tough to get a clear shot if the water is murky as you would expect, but
you can still have fun taking pictures and splashing around in the water, which
I love. Also, there is a manual focus option and I may have to use that when
shooting underwater, though I'm not sure because I haven't tried it yet, and
I'll have to wait until next summer, unless I hit an indoor pool this winter.
:-)
Menu is easy to navigate, lots of playful options--digital filters and in-camera
processing etc. I like the focus--quicker than I thought it would be. Nice heft in the
hands, but not heavy by any means, just solid. The macro setting is pretty amazing and
has a little macro ring which can rest right on subject and you can shoot with a remote.
It's really an outdoor camera. If you want to shoot indoors, use the k-5 :-), though it
does have a flash, which is pretty good. I'd say 180 is a good price. I'd say go for it
especially if you're going to mainly shoot it outdoors. I don't know if you say my
"12 in 12" gallery--if so the lifeguard in the boat was shot with the WG-2.
Mike Wilson has one. He can probably offer better advice since he's had his longer and
used it more.
Cheers, Christine
Mine's the WG-1. It does what I bought it for - keeps the 6 year old
amused. Good underwater. Limited battery life due to the contsantly-on
screen. Poor image quality in low light.

Anyone using this camera? What's good and/or bad about it? Target has them on
sale for $180. Good price or average?

Being old doesn't seem so old now that I'm old.
