I did still have my house slippers on, so my feet didn't do too badly. As far 
as close-ups, the lens was the DA 35/2.8 Macro so close certainly was an 
option. But I had not put in my contact lenses, still had on my glasses, and I 
just can't see fine detail through the viewfinder when wearing glasses. Which 
is why I use contacts in the first place. So, I had a passing thought about 
close-ups, but not seeing well for fine focus, plus the thought of kneeling in 
the snow and trying to handhold for a good shot, plus the urge to get more 
broad shots before the nice light went away . . . Result = no close-ups.
