Thanks, Bill. The reflection of the sensor sounds very logical. I think
I'll try an SMC lens and see if that helps.

Had some odd flare (?)
I suspect the odd flare is a reflection from the sensor to the lens,
and back to the sensor. I get that sometimes with my A100/2.8 Macro,
though not quite as large or prominent. I suspect the small size of
the sensor enlarges this sort of thing.
