Hi Ann
I have a Smugmug site that has a LOT of galleries and I had the
posterous blog. I'm moving the blog to squarespace. At this point my
intention is still to have most of the photos, including all of the
family snapshots on Smugmug.
ah I see - ...
I thought you were giving it up...
I love smugmug - and I prefer the old journal style too, but I don't
have much use for it ...
I was relieved to find that going to portfolio didnt take away my
ability to sell stuf from smugmug - Have tons of stuff there, as you
no doubt know :-)
Probably could improve my front page presentation but I'm lazy

On squarespace I'll have the blog and a few selects in just a single
portfolio. (The photos that are there now are just to experiment with
the site.) I've added a couple of pages that aren't activated yet
with information about the classes and workshops. It will also have
information and a few PDF docs and other info for the enrolled
students behind a password. I've tested that and it seems to work
well.
I'm using Smugmug galleries with guest uploads as a place for students
to submit their assignments. That's been working very well. When we
do the in-class critiques we can turn on the exif data with each
photo. That's been very helpful.
I really wish smugmug would add a real blog page format. The old
journal worked pretty well, but they haven't really put any
development into that for years. And I don't care for the format of
the newer journal page.
At least smugmug and squarespace look to be somewhat integrated. I'll
be testing that part out over the next few days.
I think with more fine tuning this combination is going to work pretty
well. Thanks, gs

Did you actually have a blog on smugmug? (I thought you were on smugmug -
was I wrong?)
The opening page looks fine, the baseball shot is nice.
But my preference would be to see an index page of thumbnails after clicking
on "photos". I like the shadow shot, have seen it before.
The information about where you teach and such doesn't tell people where
these institutions are, though.

I've grabbed a few older photos and temporarily added gallery to my

Go to <www.georgesinos.com> then click on "photos"
I'd appreciate it if some of you could give me a little feedback on
the layout. I've tried it on a couple different screens, an iPad and
an iPhone. The photo title and description show up in different
places on different screens.
Thanks, gs
