When I saw the Adorama deal earlier ths week for the K-01 body at $249 I couldn't resist ordering one for my wife. It will be interesting to see if she likes it and if she uses it. She's *not* a photographer and never has been. She's an iPhone snapper/videographer, but I hope to get her interested in what she can do with a 'real' camera. I plan on starting her out with the 16-45mm that I'm getting from Tom C and also giving her a Pentax F 35-70mm for when she wants a bit more reach or close focusing.
I hope that once she sees the quality of photos and videos she can produce with it that she'll have a lot of fun capturing the grandchild and who knows what else. Maybe I'll create a monster. If nothing else, we can share lenses and perhaps it will provide me some cover.
