I was going to work from home today so that I could wait for the shipment. Some things came up at work, plus it turned out that there were people here to sign for the package. Just as I was pulling into the parking lot I got a text that the lens had arrived.
By the time I got home, the sun was behind the hills across the street from my house, but by pushing the ISO a bit, I was able to wander about the yard and get a few test shots. http://www.fluidr.com/photos/ellarsee/sets/72157633272957070/ People were not kidding about the KEH rating system. If I looked carefully at the metal at the mount, I could see signs that it had actually been put on a camera. I think that I'm going to like this lens. The sunshade is the wonderful slide out style of the FA77, not the crime against usability that is the fixed shade on the FA31. The quick shift focusing makes a huge difference in usability over the conventional. It's metal construction, with a very nice feel to the focusing. Two things would make this lens a nearly perfect standard prime: 1: a range limiter on the focus. 2: Being a stop or two faster. As much as I love my DA 40 I probably ought to just sell it, it's not going to get much use unless I really need a DSLR that is as small as possible. -- Larry Colen [email protected] sent from i4est -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
