Yeah, I actually didn't even notice the hood until almost time to return it! It's a sweet lens and if I wanted primes would probably be the first lens I got. But I really did mostly want it for macro and while using it was mostly switching to it when the 16-50 wasn't getting me close enough, which necessitated moving way closer to the subject.
