I like it, Marnie. Great subject to experiment with.

I'm guessing that the sky/subject light mix might be better a little
later than this, before the sky goes quite black, so I'd try even
longer shutter times.

On sharpness: your ISO and aperture are probably optimal, depending on
the lens of course. How solid is your tripod? Have you hung a weight
from it to stabilize it more? A cotton bag with a few nearby rocks in
it might help.
