Darn it! I think the PDML should collaborate on a book about socks, with illustrations, and reproductions of each of our sock catalogues from the early years to late middle age, some exciting stories about mismatched pairs and the shades of pink they come out of the washing machine, and statistics about which sorts of flooring wear them out soonest. I'm sure it would sell well. We could call it Socks and Rugs and Socks with Holes.
