I should also mention another significant negative... when you lose the crop factor you lose at the telephoto end. So your 500mm lens goes back to being a 500mm FOV instead of a 750mm FOV... meaning you will have to buy longer lenses to make up for what you lost (or keep your APS-C camera for just such a reason).
