From: Eric Weir
Hadn't done any photography for several months. Went on a hike up in
North Georgia mountains yesterday. Wanted to see what my images were
like. Opened LR just now and there was a '?' in front of every folder
and image. Went looking for my database in the finder. Couldn't find
it. Not even in the trash. Not even by searching.
I have Time Machine. I kept going back in it till I could go no
further. Still no database. Time Machine goes back further than the
last images I uploaded. I don't understand how it could be missing
from a backup prior to that. I am sick.
Thought I had a good system. Two hard drives in addition to the one
on which I have Time Machine. Backup one to the other and then the
hard drive on my MacBook to the first. By the end of the second day,
whatever was deleted the previous day is gone for good. Stupid.
How could I have avoided this?
Are the photos gone as well?
I mean is it just the catalog that is hosed or have you lost the actual
images?
