Wonder why they didn't just name it the K-30ii?

It doesn't really replace the K-5 it replaces the K-30. I haven't
read the whole thing but it's body specifications are half a step
higher than the K30 with the same image processor and I would assume
image sensor or close enough. That implies a 12 bit/channel images.
The K-5 II retained the Prime II processor because the Prime M though
faster didn't support 14 bit images. Pentax could leave the K-5II/IIs in
their product line for quite a while even with this K50 in the line. The
name does however make further hash of the K naming conventions so, "Way
to Go Pentax!!", if that part is true.

If this is real, it'd take the place of the K-5/II/IIs pretty well if
(and only if) they release a higher-end body at the same time.
Also (again, if this is real), I'm glad they got rid of the ugly
concave space above the lens on the K-30.
