One of my favorite photos from the shoot a few nights ago came while I was just setting up the lights and setting the exposure. Sophia was just sitting on her stool, biding her time while I futzed with the camera and took test shots to set the exposure. The backdrop was white seamless paper, with red gelled strobes flashing at the back of it. There was a key light camera right, and a fill camera left.
There is something about this shot that I really like even though there was no thought as to posing or anything beyond "is the lighting correct" when I took it. It took a fair bit of processing to bring the color out of the background in lightroom. If I brought the exposure up properly for Sophia, then the red totally washed out. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/9427045630/in/set-72157634890993590 Comments, as always are welcome. Particularly for things I could do to improve the processing. ISO 80, f/8, 1/80 second Exposure +1.65, highlights -51, shadows +40, blacks -11 adjustment brush exposure -2.49 saturation 60 with fading in around her and at the edges. -- Larry Colen [email protected] http://red4est.com/lrc -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
