You know, they can sell HQ as much as they want. People want
cheap and cheerful print film. Kodak sells Funtime film to this
market.
What annoys me is that supplying small niches, such as the one
that most photo artists find themselve in, is going to be
impossible for a company like Kodak.
No one else offers the support that they do, and no one will.
When Kodak dropped dye transfer material, a significant photo
imaging resource was lost.
Did you know that dye transfer is the only truly archival colour
process?
It is.
And we can't get the stuff anymore.
This is not to say that Kodak hasn't had its share of marketing
blunders, I can think of a half dozen real bonehead moves they
have done.
I am worried that they will have to consider supporting the
photo artist a bonehead move in the not too distant future.
