Unfortunately, Aperture relies upon the OS X core frameworks for its raw processing, and (IIRC) will not accept image files even in DNG format for which the core frameworks have not been updated. To use the new frameworks, you'll need the latest OS X and Aperture versions. Of course, you could see if you can get a K5II DNG file from someone and test it out, but I suspect that you'll have to do something different from what you have been doing.
