BTW, another factor that can slow down initial GPS fixes if the receiver doesn't know where it is (like if you've moved hundreds of miles since it was last used). Phones have an advantage here as well, because they can get rough location from the cell tower. GPS chipsets have improved a lot over the years in time-to-first-fix, but it sounds like the chipset in the O-GPS1 is not the pinnacle of achievement here.
