It's a bit complicated, but yes, it uses the same latchpin as the inner
breech lock bayonet.

The complicated part (yous other guys correct me if I'm wrong, ok?) is that
once the pin latches the lens, you must continue to turn the lenses mount
ring (closest to the body) to "cinch" the mount into place. If that's not
done, the lens mount can move around enough to unlatch itself, leaving less
than an eighth of a turn before it drops off the camera.

>From my experience with these extension tubes, it may not be easy, or there
is a trick to getting the inner breech ring to turn that extra amount to
cinch it up. Perhaps I have to have film in the camera, or maybe my ring is
stuck, but I can't get it to cinch up (though I did once, but lacking
instructions, I've never been able to repeat the process.).

So my advice is to get the attention of someone who's actually mounted a
long lens on the beast, and/or had to unjam their breech lock ring.

By the way, the extension tubes I have are in no way automatic, having no
coupling to anything other than the bayonet and the latching pin. As such,
they can be put on the camera in any of the four positions the mount allows
with untypical indifference, as it has four indents for the latch pin. I
guess this allows you to align the controls of the camera or lens to best
serve you, intead of having to move around see focus or aperture if the
camera's up on a 9 foot tripod.
