Thanks, Alan!

Among the many peculiarities of the former North American colonies is that the 
terminal "h" is optional, both in spelling and pronunciation.  When one of us 
Yankees (northerners) says "veranda", you can be sure there's no "h" in sight.  
When a southerner says "verandah", the third syllable trails off into a 
beautiful soft ending, and the "h" is very much there.

Also exquisite in a completely different way. Very appealing compared with 
the "functional" architecture of today. I would like to see a more normal 
shot of the whole house. BTW, I though only the cockneys dropped their "h"s 
(Verandah)?
