Well tooka roll and a bit of Supra 800 and about 75 with the D1.They were right, pretty dark.I set the ISO on the cameras to 800 and 1600 and could not get any working speeds,so i shot with the Lumiquest pocket bounce on the D1 and the 'Cotty bounce' on the Super Program. If the film ones look antything like the digital ones, should be ok.The pocket bounce did a nice job of lighting up the whole room with just a touch of shadow.Far amount of shadow when shooting portrait mode though. Did not take any during actual recording but mostly during warm up and sound checks. The out side of the studio looks like South Side Chicago so we did some stern faced band member shots there. Checked the flash with the meter and shot the D1 at 200 mostly f3.2 distance, and 4.0-4.5 close. The SP used mostly TTL. Should get prints later this week.

This is fun stuff to shoot. Last time I did something like this I shot Delta 3200 and Fuji Press 1600, no filters, wide open with fast-ish lenses and a monopod. Mostly I shot with the A* 200mm f2.8 at around 1/60 (which is hit-and-miss country, even with the monopod) and my old Super Takumar 35mm f2.0 at between 2 and 4, depending on the shot. The 200 was for 'face' shots and detail stuff, and so that I could be further back while the actual recording was going on, and the 35 was for more group shots and overall scenes and for times when I could get closer. The final results made both the band and me very happy. I'll see if I can dig a few up and put them on mac.com.
