Thanks John! The difference is subtle, maybe I'm noticing it because
I've spent some time editing this photo and after uploading it I was
thinking well that's not really what I saw in ACR. Such "accidents"
can be annoying.


Yeah. I think you're seeing subtle artifacts that most viewers wouldn't notice. I can see very, very, very small improved smoothness in the cloud edges once you pointed it out but it's probably something only you would notice.

Thanks for describing your post processing correction procedure - might come in handy.
