Katherine Hepburn in an old movie 'The calla lilies are in bloom"

I was ready to say I was mistaken about the variety . but it appears it _is_ the same flower. I only knew the name calla lily which I learned from that old film of Hepburns years ago.

Calla lily - I have never heard of Arum lilies by that name. You live &
learn. The Afrikaans name is "varkoor" - pig's ear. The plant is native
to Southern Africa. Pink & yellow varieties are available too.

Jack - the big white blooms in the background ARE lilies - calla lilies
  but it's a painting.

I was too lazy to set up the tripod for shooting this it was handheld at
1/13 - so you see... :-)

Ops, those pitcher like white blossoms certainly appear to have the

Yes, Ann I did see the earlier "flowering corn plant" shots.
Can't recall if I gave them favorable comments, but If not, I
certainly should have. The exposure is very well done.

Jack -

Not lilies -
dracaena fragrans - common name Flowering Corn plant.
Or did you mean the lilies in the poster?

did you see the one I took earlier?

photographically - yeah a little unsharp and could darken and up the
contrast a bit... mainly I wanted to show the length of the stem with
the buds on it as compared to a few days ago - and the big blooms last
year.

Seems very pale, wispy and lacking detail.

Especially the lilies. Needs a touch of color and certainly, contrast.

Background not ideal.?
