As I said, you simply cut the top into 18" lengths, treat the bottom of each piece with rooting hormone (a powder) & push them into soil in a pot. Keep watered. Dracaenas root very easily & each cutting should have 2 or 3 shoots in no time at all. Fortunately, I don't have to worry about pots or keeping them indoors.

thanks for all the tips I'll save this and print it out. I do have the
daughters of Nora, who gave me the plant, for help in these things as
well - and her grandson-in-law who lives downstairs.
but how do I get the top to root? I like the plant as a tree..
is necessary to cut it back? - if I trip roots and feed it?

There is no room here for a jungle, alas

There are 12 shoots flowering on my plant at the moment so, as you can
imagine, the scent is quite overpowering. It is right outside the
kitchen windows.

Your plant has become quite tall & is bending over towards the light,
hence the almost horizontal flower.

Next spring, you should cut it off about 18" from the base. It will soon
get 2 or 3 new shoots. The rest of the plant can then be cut into 18"
lengths (I think you will have enough for 3 or 4), each treated with a
rooting hormone (Seradix) at the base & potted. Move them all nearer the
window. Then you will have a dracaena mini forest. If you give them all
some plant pot fertilizer & keep them well watered, there is no reason
why they couldn't all flower this time next year

ah thanks, Alan! - nice.. looks quite similar to mine, but I note
it doesn't bend down.

My living room is still heavy with fragrance.. in fact, it
is now permeating the entire apartment.

I trust you saw, or will look at the Dracaena GESO ..
I finally set up tri-pod and used a verilux floor lamp for lighting
so I could use slower film... the last photo in the series is
my favorite that I took.
