Looks like the temperature stayed just high enough to avoid the freezing
rain today. Have to see what overnight brings. I don't see any
precipitation on the local weather radar, but the National Weather
Service at RDU airport is predicting sleet for tonight.

The big system appears to be on the west side of the Blue Ridge
Mountains & is heading NE, staying on the west side.

Most of the weather that affects this area comes around the south end of
the mountains (through Alabama & Georgia) and travels up along the east
slope.

My wood stove doesn't require electricity, so I'll still have heat if
the power goes out & I dug my camp stove out just in case I need it to make
coffee in the morning.

I don't think we're going to get any snow around here, but they are
calling for the possibility of freezing rain.

Doesn't make for many good photos unless you're into broken tree
limbs & downed power lines
