Aperture, shmaperture--everyone knows what Christian meant: On an f/2.8-4
zoom lens, you need a longer shutter speed as you zoom out. I don't care
whether it's the f-stop that varies or the aperture or something else.

An analogy: It's ludicrous to insist, "An Argentinian can't be
anti-American, for Argentina is in the Americas" or "An Arab can't be
anti-Semite, for Arabs are Semites." The terms anti-American and anti-Semite
have taken on specific meanings, and to pretend otherwise is to engage in
sophistry.
