Is that from the diner you were referring to? Looks very tempting:)

That is from the Alabama Hills restaurant and bakery in Lone Pine. Another
place well worth a stop. Lone Pine is an interesting place, not only is
it at the base of Mt Whitney, but it is also where a lot of movies were
shot.

I loved Lone Pine - we stayed there a couple of days back in 1984 been through a couple more times. When roaming the Alabama Hills I took a bW photo of a piece of wood that had characters on it that appeared to be in a Middle Eastern language.. It was mine for the taking if I had wanted it - wasn't until years later I learned Gunga Din had been filmed there!

While I was out hiking and Richard napping I encountered two local women on horseback, one of whom was the local sherrif's wife. She
was an artist, too. Hired me to photo a few of her farm animals,
had me over for Scrabble (I don't think we finished a whole game)
and they gifted us with frozen trout and quail. Sadly, we couldn't get any of the local eateries to cook it for us partly because of the hour of the day - almost closing time. So we gave it to our inn-keeper.

It was a memorable visit. I think I recommended LOne Pine earlier to
Jostein and/or Larry
