Hmm odd. I have had the 100mm macro, and still have the 2.8 70-200mm and the 50-500mm, the layters version that is with in-lens stabilization and silient focusing. I found all of them performing pretty good, allthough I must say that I use the 50-500mm near or at 500mm in almost all shots with it ... What exactly disappointed you in that one? Image quality?
