Well, first off, there are leaf shutter lenses in most
35mm rangefinders, aren't there?

As for 35mm _SLR_ leaf shutters, I did get a chance to
examine a curious old camera a friend of mine inherited.
It was an SLR with a leaf shutter.  When the shutter was 
fired, first the leaf shutter closed, then the mirror 
flipped up, then the leaf shutter opened and closed again, 
and finally the mirror returned and the leaf shutter re-opened.  
Complicated but curiously fascinating.  IIRC the leaf shutter 
was in the body, not the lens.
