i have one, early 2011 model; the last of these were the mid-2012; there are a few other outlets for refurbs, like Expercom & MicroCenter, but even if they have this model, they may have California tax too
to me, the biggest appeal of this display is the matte glass; i did also like the idea of lots of pixels - i spent the 90s pining for higher pixel pitches — but it can be hard to read and i tend to move windows to the attached 24" display
i never planned to edit images on the built-in display; it is not great for that - see this comparison:
