How big is that pipe? At 1/4th life sized (assuming it's a few inches long) you get ~1/2 inch DOF at f 8, f 11 should accommodate it nicely (unless that is one small pipe.) You may need to focus carefully to use the whole DOF range, which is starting to get more evenly split in front and behind the focal plane even at 1/4th lifesized. So you may need to focus till the point 1/2 of the way in is sharp and let DOF cover both the foreground and background. (Focusing like that is not exactly say but for a non-moving object it's not hard. put something next to it the comes into focus at the desired point.)
